Speaking of Lime Green Fire Engines, I’d love to see one from TLG too. But until they make one, you can check out this pic of my Lime Green Fire Engine. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3275744

There are lots of departments that have lime fire trucks, but Lego hasn’t given us the parts to make them. In addition, almost all airport fire departments have their rigs in lime.

Based on my conversations with other builders, I put together a list of parts that aren’t available.

1) Lime doors. Including car doors and lift doors.

2) A better ladder piece. The current ladders from Lego work great as ground ladders, but there hasn’t been a piece that works well as an aerial ladder

Megablocks makes one, but it’s too large and I would never buy their brand.

3) Minifig hazmat suits I think a rescue hazmat set with a rescue truck and minifigs would sell VERY well.

4) Flat windscreens in 6-wide. (Long been a problem for fire truck builders)

5) Please re-release this part in red. It’s going for as much as $20 on Bricklink.

Lego fire builders represent one on the larger sub-groups here and on Brickshelf. And Lego fire sets consistently show up on Lego Shop and Home’s top 25 sellers list.

Thanks for your consideration!

-Steven

The 2012 fire set photos have now been widely distributed.

I know some people will groan at yet another line of city fire sets, but keep in mind that kids are the target audience, and these sets sell well.

However, Lego put some long-awaited goodies in these sets that AFOLs have been asking for.
  • New ladder piece!
  • Printed fireman legs
  • Fire chief minifig
Thank you, TLC, for these. Can’t wait for these sets to be released.

Hi All,
The www.altBricks.com website is ready for orders!!!  It took way longer than
planned to get the site all up and running. And we have been so burried in
"side" orders that we keep running out!  But we just received a large shipment
so there are plenty for all (we hope)!

On a side note, we aren't selling on Bricklink any longer, but still love the
site!!!  Thanks Bricklink for letting altBricks get a start on your site!

Awesome concept, but sadly the build does not excite me. Maybe focus on one vehicle and a more interesting building. A smaller set with an intricate build might be more interesting to CUUSOO users.

All good-natured snark aside, you have proven to be right in so many ways, Dave! I have become a total fan of clones, especially when they are produced by fans themselves. Pandora’s box is open; let the mayhem ensue!

As long as the end result is good, I’m all for clones and even for the mixing of clone brands, though I admit that I tend to be brand-pure in any given MOC (despite my usual “can’t we all get along” stance on clones).

I seem to recall a very nice LEGO rose from a few years back, though I can’t find the thread. Was that yours as well? If so, then you certainly have a knack for brick-based foliage!

John,

I am very lucky to say I have had a chance to see those leaves in Green. They are very very well done.

I hope when you make you way up here for Brickfete.com that you manage to pack a few bags of the other colours in with the B.E.D. Shirt(1)

1. Janey said I was not allowed to have a Brickfete Enforcement Division Shirt with my face on it.(2)

2. All the more reason why I need one.(3)

3. Strangely enough other people have put in a request for said shirt.

Hi All,

“Alt Bricks” (my new BrickLink.com store) is proud to announce its first custom product. Green Plant Leaves 6 x 5. This element is similar to the LEGO 6 x 5 plant leaf. This is NOT manufactured by LEGO. It is a custom element made for Alt Bricks from ABS with the consistency of regular brick plastic. It has fantastic clutch power so that cascaded leaves, a method often used for large trees, do not fall apart! These elements are available for only $0.15 ea in lots of 100!

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/SEBarile/AltBricks/greenleaf.jpg

In the near future I will be adding Brown, Dark Orange, Green, Yellow, Orange, & Dark Red. These will sell for the same price and min quantity as the green! A 100 count mixed color pack will also be available with 20 of each color sans green.
