thanks for the reference with pictures, dave. i think my brain mixed the 6582
and 1687 sets together cause im remembering it differently but those have got
to be the only sets that match what im remembering.

While I cant comment on the accuracy of the model (Ive never been to Europe),
Ive got to say that is quite an excellent LEGO town.

I promised two updates this week, and so here is the second one for this
week, and it actually involves more Lifelites.
We had already
wired
Harold up to make his
rotor
spin, and that is cool, but we decided that we needed to light up his
helipad as well. And so
HERE is the result. I needed to drill holes all the way up through the
corners, and it was kind of a pain, but I think that the results made it
worth the effort.

lights and moving stuff, the better.

Oh now youre corrupted! the drilling holes wont be the end of it--not by a
long shot :)

Im afraid to ask, Dave-- what else is there???

The landing pad looks fantastic! nicely done!!

Thanks!

And now that youre on this long road of lifelites, prepare to drill more
holes all over the layout! :)

Hi John,
How are you lighting the subway. And then on the next couple videos it your
layout at night. What kind of lights are you using to light the building
interiors? Very nice BTW! SteveB
|
Thanks, Steve. As you already know all too well, the credit goes to Ross!
The interior lights and the subway lights are the same; I found them on ebay.
Here is a link.
We run about 3 of those off of a 9 volt transformer.

Last week I didnt get a chance to post a weekly feature, and so Ill do two
this week!
This one picks up on a little project I
posted about a while ago.
I ordered my Lifelites (thanks, Rob!), they came prompty,
and I promptly dropped some into my copy of
Steven Asburys ladder 4
firetruck that we feature on the TCLTC layout.
As Rob warned me HERE, I drilled a lot
of holes (12 so far), and HERE are the results so
far.
I plan on lighting up the rear lights, too, but need to order more lights. I
think that its looking pretty hot, if not cool!

Ive been building in a reduced scale ever since I dismantled my most recent

this reduced scale. This would allow me to pack more into it - more
buildings, etc.
Here are the first results:

Enjoy!

Wow. Did I know that you dismantled your layout?

I was quite certain I *foxed* a memo to you. :o)
|
Gosh, thats really sad,
because it was so cool,
|
thanks. It was time. So much has happened since I dismantled it that it was
actually really good that I did it at that time. Ive since redone my storage,
completed and delivered a 7x7 foot commission and then moved to a new apartment.
|
but this new scale is very cool as well. Unique, too!
|
thanks. I am really happy with the way these are coming out. They definitely
lack in detail but Im OK with that.
|
Im loving Engine 226; we will have to photograph ours together at Brickfête!
<=Ashcan smiley!
And I need to find that Milwaukee Road SD40-2 Ross built at that scale (5
wide it was, IIRC). I would gladly donate it to the JLLTC
|
Thatd be sweet. I was planning on 5 wide trains.
thanks again,

The web pages for NALUG's display at the 2011 Great Edmonton Train Show
are now finished. This year we had many new creations based on well-known
business chains, as well as a variety of other MOCs. Also back for another
appearance were the High Level, LRT and bascule bridges.
Also done is a web page for the Red Deer Model Train & Hobby show.
Both can be viewed from the main NALUG web page at:
<http://www.nalug.org>
Comments welcome.
