Sea Monkey Building Standards
The following standards were created only to bring the Sea Monkey universe a recongizable uniformity. Hopefully you will find them fun and they will help inspire creativity. In your corner of the LEGO universe, the Sea Monkeys may have a different role, function, or appearance. Thats fine, but the creations displayed at the Aquarium must stay within the following guidelines...
Sea Monkey creations should appear as organic as possible.
| | The LEGO Company offers a lot of pieces that can give an organic feel. Curving lines and forms that copy living creatures can achieve this affect well.
|
Use color.
| | Shades of grey often lend themselves to a metallic look. However, utilizing color effectively will give Sea Monkey creations a more organic feel, while increasing a certain alien-ness that will clearly distinguish them from human technology.
|
No Wheels.
| | Wheels have a way of giving creations a very human look. They also represent an invention necessary for dry-land transportation. Wheels could be used underwater, but a more inventive means of transportation will help separate the look of the Sea Monkeys.
|
The Sea Monkey mini-fig.
| | The mini-fig on the left is one of the Forsaken. The black helmet is used to separate the thoughts of Forsaken from the Sea Monkeys. The mini-figs in the middle and on the right are typical Sea Monkeys. The masks can either be for audible communication or telepathic enhancement. The colors on the chests and tails are meant to be some type of clothing or covering. That is to say, naked Sea Monkey skin is in the shades of green that most Life On Mars figures come in. The second stage of Sea Monkey life, the crystal (see Physiology; Reproduction), can be depicted by any crystal except trans-neon yellow (which is the color of Forsaken Crystals).
|
Rules are made to be broken.
| | As Adrian Drakes Marauder shows, the rules can be bent. In this creation, it is reasonable to believe this Sea Monkey has a vehicle with wheels in order to compete in the Turbocycle League.
