Homework III

Part I

Read Robot Basics and Applied Engineering Terms & Concepts in the “Background Reading” section of your binder. Then answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper. You do not need to repeat the question, but please answer in complete sentences and remember: neatness counts!
  1. Why is testing important to the engineering process?
  2. What are the essential characteristics of a competition robot?
  3. How would you test your team’s robots for each of those characteristics?
Part II

Re-Read the description of the roles that need to be filled on our competition team (from the welcome pages at the front of your binder), then list the three positions you think are best suited to your skills and abilities, in order of your preference. For each position write a brief but specific paragraph telling me why you are well suited for that position. Remember: neatness counts!

Part III

Based on the programming you did in class on Thursday (September 14) draw (or describe) a program that would perform the following tasks:
  1. Go forward until the touch sensor is pressed and reverse direction when the touch sensor is released.
  2. Go forward and stop over a piece of black tape 24 inches away
