V-Wing

Manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering, the V-Wing is a nimble craft used by Clone Pilots in the Clone wars. Seving next to the ARC 170, the V-Wing was mainly used for dogfighting the Droid’s Vultures and Tri-Fighters, giving the ARC-170’s an oppurtunity to take out capitol vessels.

The V-Wing has room for one pilot and an astromech to do in-flight repairs and navigation. It has two twin lasers on either side of it’s pointed hull. The wings were able to rotate 90 degrees for landing purposes.

With this model, I have tried to create a LEGO V-wing that’s more accurate than LEGO’s build of this craft. So far, I have two versions of the rotatable wing system in mind, one that looks good but may need some reinforcement, and one reinforced version that looks a bit less pretty. I’m going to try to make the pretty version, first, of course, and I can always order some extra parts for the reinforcements, if nessecary.

Since I generated these shots, I have already made some changes, but most of them wouldn’t show up on these shots, anyway. Working out the buidling instructions has been hell, so far, but I managed to make decent instructions for the hull.

I haven’t found a picture of a landed V-Wing, so I had to think up some landers myself. I think they worked out pretty cool. They’re just the right length and you can hide them, pretty well.

I also took some MLCAD shots of the V-Wing in Dark Red, since that’s the color I’d prefer to make it in;
