Illinois; A leading developer of CD-ROM catalogs, journals and
directories.
Number of sets: 135+
Oldest set: #041 "Samsonite Preschool Bricks", 001 "Gears"
Favorite System: Train & Castle
Favorite set in collection: #6074 "Black Falcon's Fortress" and #6054
                                 "Forestmen's Crossing"
Why I like collecting: I have wanted a Lego train layout since the
Christmas of 1978 or 1979 when, as a boy, I
saw an enormous Lego train display at Marshall Fields on State Street.
But the trains didn't arrive in the US for several years, and by then
I was into scale railroading. As an adult, now, I am pursuing my
childhood dream and building a Provincial Railroad layout out of Lego.
I also collect the truly adorable Castle line.

Age: 19
Married: Nope, not for a while
Occupation: Sophomore physics major at Johns Hopkins
# of sets: Around 50
# of pieces: 5000-6000
Favorite Theme: Castle (of course) and most of the Town stuff
Favorite Set: I guess if I just had to pick one it would be my
King's Castle set I got a while back. It was the
first one (I think) of the big gray castles, and it
was also the last set I got (until recently)

I've been out of Lego for a while. I've always wanted all
of those cool sets that have come out in the last five years
or so since I stopped getting Lego (especially the big
pirate ships). But I never had the money to buy them, and
my parents wouldn't have gotten them any more since I was
"too old". Recently, though, my summer job has given me a
lot of time to snoop around the net and when I found RTL it
rekindled the Lego fire. I'm just hoping I don't spend
too much of my summer earning on sets (I guess I'll just
have to go without books next year :)

While I'm at it, anyone out there know of a good way to win
my girlfriend over to the Lego side. We had fun putting
together the Rocky River Retreat (title?) but she isn't
completely hooked yet :)

Favorite theme(s): 1. Space 2. Castle 3. Space 4. Soldiers 5. The Rest: *1
Favorite set(s): 6950 Rocket Transport, and 6175 Crystal Explorer. *2
Current projects: 1. Getting ready to modify 6954 more to my liking. (Thanks
                     Margo!)
                  2. Dreaming about 6077 so that I can add it to my
                     'favorite' list.

*1 I thought about mentioning 'Space' a few more times, or breaking Space
down by year, but that's an exercise best left for other messages.

*2 Curiously, these are also my most recent sets. Tell you something? :-)

	Collecting since: 1977(?)
	Number of pieces: ~25000-30000
Favorite themes: Castle, Town, Space, Aquazone
Favorite sets: Fire stations, Starfleet Voyager
	Comments:
Well, I feel like an old timer to this except when I discovered
how long LEGO has been around. Right now, I'm trying to build up my collection
into ludicrous levels (though compared to when LEGO brings their stuff, my
collection looks tiny indeed). One
One of my goals is to have my room pervade LEGO. Right now, I ran out
of space on the desks and cabinet. Unfortunately though, I doubt my parents
will have any desire to let me place my stuff around the house and I have no
basement. Another goal is to re-create a place set similar to JJR Tolkien's
Gondalin (wasn't that the enormous city-fortress with a castle mounted on top
of a mountain?). The other goal is to create a situation similar to Macross
except that none of the vehicles can transform into towering robots.
Because of my interests in RPGs (esp AD&D), I'm attempting to create
a Battlesystem setting using LEGO, minatures, and natural building blocks (no,
not those you disgusting pervert!). However, since I lack many of the
forestmen series, a natural outdoors setting will be difficult to create.
	Future ideas:
Castle: Hopefully, LEGO will produce a village setting with Inn, farms,
shops, etc.
	Town: An archology.
Space: Anything but built with more stability as opposed to the Unitron
sets.
	Aquazone: No Abyss!!!!!!!

# of sets in LEGO collection: alot
# of LEGO pieces: a whole lot
First LEGO set: Legoland Main Street (I still have it too!)
Favorite theme(s): Pirate, Castle
Favorite set(s): Skulls Eye Schooner & Black Seas Barracuda

Current project: as soon as I move, I want to build a Pirate ship w/
all the middle sections from SES and BSB and hopefully with two full
decks: one cannon deck below, and the main deck above. Then, I want to
add retracted wings to the ship, thus creating a fantasy flying ship. If
anyone has any ideas on how to build really big wings with little to
no technic pieces let me know.

Greatest claim to LEGO fame: my yellow castle & knight's tournament (I
think that's the name, it's from the same generation as the yellow castle.)

Other: Happily, I moving into a bigger apartment in two weeks, at
which time I intend to get a large folding table (~$30 at Sams) to use
for lego building.

# of sets in LEGO collection: Sigh, not nearly as many as it used to be.
I had some of my Legos mailed out to my new home and UPS delivered
them to the house 2 blocks away. I never saw them again. I did get
financial compensation, but it just wasn't the same. The box also
had some of my best sports cards. Sigh.
 # of LEGO pieces: I think they'd fit into 2 basic set buckets. I need more.
Favorite theme(s): everything but space (that's second favorite).
Favorite set(s): Coastal Patrol. I want a train.

Current project: Sorting, trying not to build anything until after qual's.
Past projects: Pneumatic drawbridge for my castles. Lately only small
artsy displays (now showing is an environmental piece: idyllic grassy
scene with animals, plants, and dozens of minifigs crowded onto a
platform overlooking it). I broke down and bought pink Legos at the
big Ic 'N' Save sale; I'll use them to make some transvestite minifigs.
Impressive Lego I've seen: my friends' rendition of the Bayeux tapestry.

Age-Denny-almost 26; Frankie 26
Marital Status-we've been happy w/ each other for 7+ years -so why ruin a
good thing. Besides marriage certificates cost money that we can spend on
lego:). You have to have your priorities in order.
Children-no we aren't ready to share our lego, yet. I still have a hard
time convincing Frankie he has extra pieces to his trains that I REALLY
need for my castles.
Occupation-Denny rodeo clown for the tire mounting area of Sam's Club
(part of Wal-mart but I don't get a Wal-mart discount:( ). Frankie lead at
Circuit City roadshop (car stereo alarm installs). Basically we're
corporate slaves.
# of sets in lego collection-one large china cabinet full of castles
stuff, one dining room table of train stuff, miscellaneous models
scattered around the house, a couple or three rubbermaid containers full
of parts-how many is that? Did anyone count?

Favorite themes-Denny castle Frankie trains
Favorite sets-Black Monarch's Castle (recieved for 23rd B-day) this was my

Current project-stealing Frankie's pieces :)
Other interests-Frankie's a private pilot:) Denny's scared of small
planes:(. Computers, Muscle cars, SCA - does anyone out there know of a
cheap hobby?
Pets-LOTS-rule one if it shows up feed it & name it-Currently feeding 8 or
so cats 8 kittens-anyone want one? 3 dogs, 2 puppies & a horse. (Did I
mention Frankie brings home strays?)
Other members of household-Donna (24) Denny's little sister. She thinks
we're kinda nuts & has little interest in legos except helping younger
brother to build his.
Cars-'66 GTO convertible, '66 Tempest hardtop, '67 Firebird convertible,
'63 Falcon Futura convertible, '63 Falcon hardtop, '68? Falcon
slightly(hehe) modified, '87 Ford F-150 pu, assorted lego cars.
Disclaimer-I have know idea what's running today-Frankie has been known to
swap perfectly good engines between cars because he was bored. He's not
happy unless he's taking something apart or putting it together. I guess
that's why he likes lego.
More info than anyone wanted or needed (sorry).
