Favorite LEGO toys/themes: PARADISA : best EVER Lego theme!! Poolside Paradise(6416) : best EVER Lego set!! Pink lady from that set : best EVER lego figure!! Naturally, I also like the holiday/leisure/country sub-theme of Town Lego (beach bandit, ristorante, riding school, etc.). I also like Forestmen (Castle : 1988-1990) and a bit of Pirate, as well as a bit of Space + Aquazone. Sorry, I don't like non-mini-figure or post-Star Wars Lego!
My fascination with LEGO began... when it was my 5th birthday ; I had practically ALL of the Castle Lego from 1987 as my present ; King's Castle, Prisoner Convoy, etc.etc.
I once built... a Paradisa cruise ship! (I used the floating boat base from set 4020 (Fire Fighter : 1987) since there were no pink boat bases!) I also built a lovely minimal Town:Holiday set using the Beach Bandit figure (6534), a full-size(32x32) grey baseplate + 3 palm trees, and not a lot else!(well, I made a Paradisa-style sunbed + provided the figure with a table, parasol + cup, + used yellow + blue plates for the sea + sand!)
Someday I will build... an absolutely PERFECT Paradisa scene using the 2 original Paradisa women(dotted pink top + red suntop), the semi-raised 2-pool baseplate from Poolside Paradise(6416)(both pools shall be filled with water or pear juice to drink!) + a few other bits ; sunbeds, parasol, palm tree and little white arches. I may also build a giant Space station on 4-9 raised moon crater baseplates!
LEGO is great because... It is miniature, minimal, delicate + EXTREMELY versatile! Educational too!
LEGO fans are great because... They are individual, eccentric, accepting, and artistically creative!
