My fascination with LEGO began... with castle, when I was a young lad. More recently, coming out of my Dark Ages, it was castle again, in the form of the Ninja sets.

My Top 10 Books of All Time:
These are books I've read over and over again, that never seem
to lose their magic. I encourage you to look for them - and if
you read them, let me know what you thought. Some will be
easy to find, some very difficult.
10. _The Illuminatus! Trilogy_ by Robert Shea and Robert Anton
Wilson. Subversive, conspiratorial, potentially even illuminating.
Fnord.
9. _Good Omens_, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. The
funniest book ever written about the end of the world.
Pratchett's _Discworld_ series is excellent humorous fantasy as
well, and Gaiman's _Sandman_ comics are among the best
stories told in that format.
8. _The Chronicles of Narnia_ by C.S. Lewis. Although they're
aimed at younger readers, I still reread them once in a while.
7. Robert A. Heinlein. I'm torn between listing _Stranger in a
Strange Land_ or _Starship Troopers_. Both works had a
profound effect on me in my younger days. Also recommended:
_The Moon is a Harsh Mistress_.
6. _Creatures of Light and Darkness_ by Roger Zelazny. I
suppose "mythic science fiction" is the best way to describe this
book. I believe it's unfortunately out of print. Roger Zelazny
was one of the greatest writers of science fiction and fantasy
ever, and he is the one person I would have most liked to meet
when he was alive. You might also look for _Lord of Light_, _A
Night in the Lonesome October_, the _Amber_ series, or any of
his excellent short story collections.
5. _The Hobbit_ by J.R.R. Tolkien. I'm one of a small minority of
people who actually like this book better than the _Lord of the
Rings_. *The* classic fantasy book as far as I'm concerned.
4. _Cyrano de Bergerac_ by Edmund Rostand. Reading this play
moved me to tears. I used to be able to see a lot of myself in
Cyrano.
3. _All Creatures Great and Small_ by James Herriot. This book
and its four sequels (_All Things Bright and Beautiful_, _All
Things Wise and Wonderful_, _The Lord God Made Them All_,
and _Every Living Thing_) very nearly made me into a
veterinarian. If you love animals, then do yourself the favor of
reading these books.
2. _The Princess Bridge_ by William Goldman. "Fencing.
Fighting. Torture. Poison. True love. Hate. Revenge. Giants.
Hunters. Bad men. Good men. Beautifulest ladies. Snakes.
Spiders. Beasts of all natures and descriptions. Pain. Death.
Brave men. Coward men. Strongest men. Chases. Escapes. Lies.
Truths. Passion. Miracles." Even better than the movie - but if
you haven't seen that, watch it, too!
and my #1 book of all time:
1. _Bridge of Birds_ by Barry Hughart. Set in an ancient China
that never was...but should have been. Words cannot describe
the impact this book had on me when I first read it. I fell in love
with the characters, and the book is one of the few that can
make me both laugh and cry. It follows the adventures of the
strong (but rather naive) Number Ten Ox as he tries to save the
children of his village with the help of Li Kao, an ancient sage
with a "slight flaw" in his character.
