Favorite LEGO toys/themes: LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Invention System

My fascination with LEGO began... The day my manager walked into my office with two Mindstorms kits and told me to become familiar with them. Talk about "pay to play"! I had no objection. :-)

LEGO is great because... The company has done such a great job building a universally recognized brand of fun toys. That combined with the excellent Mindstorms products makes it easy to interest people in learning programming by having fun playing with robots!

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Programming for fun; photography; travel

My favorite Foods: Yes. (Would be easier to say what I don't like.)

My favorite Movies & TV: Comedy, adventure, science fiction

My favorite Music: As long as it doesn't involve polka or yodeling...

My favorite Pets & Animals: I'm a cat person.

More & Less:
  • more Episodes of Battlestar Galactica, less Unresolved mysteries in each episode of Lost
  • more Respectfulness, less Crudeness
  • more Pralines'n'Cream Ice Cream, less Of my "spare tire"

Rules I try to live by:
  1. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
  2. People do exactly what they want to do.
  3. When things go wrong, it's usually because of one or both of the above being ignored.

Additional comments:

I honestly don't remember if I played with LEGOs as a kid. But my professional life has recently put me in the position of promoting programming Mindstorms using Microsoft .NET language products. It has been a blast working with the Mindstorms kit and I will probably continue after this current job assignment ends!
