My fascination with LEGO began... My fascination with LEGO bricks truly began when I was eight years old. My grandmother gave to me my first ever LEGO set for Christmas. The set was:
6988 - Alpha Centauri Outpost (Blacktron II)
It was with the construction of this LEGO set that I truly became a LEGOmanic...
I once built... I must admit that I have not built anything worth mentioning either to you or myself. I graduated from college in May of 2005, since then, my interest in bring my thoughts to reality have grown expotentially.
Someday I will build... Currently I live in a city called Cincinnati. I was born here many years ago, and have always appreciated the scenery the city has to offer. Lately, I have been pondering the question what do I want to build. The answer to that question came when I was walking the streets of a little town my office is in. I realized that I wanted to replicate the quaint little town with LEGO bricks.
LEGO is great because... The multitude of ways in which individuals can bring to life their own thoughts and visions through LEGO bricks rests as the sole reason why LEGO is so great. LEGO bricks free us from the enslavement of reality. Where-by-which we can create for, not only ourselves, but others a new reality, one where imagination passes over from thoughts to reality. We are given the ability to be not only the created, but the creator...
LEGO fans are great because... In my experience, LEGO fans are great because they are a collection of people who all share a common goal. That goal is to play, create, and imagine. LEGO fans are, for the most part, people who have refused to allow their imaginations to become so small that they no can imagine. In the movie "Hook," Peter Pan goes back to Never Never Land, but he doesn't remember that he once was the great leader of the Lost Boys. He has forgotten how to fly, crow, and above all else, imagine. LEGO fans are those remaining few Lost Boys who will always remember how to imagine and play...
