Ray Stricklin
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Trains, Pirates, Castles, and all the rest.
My fascination with LEGO began... in about 1982 - when my wife bought a small packet at a yard sale.
Someday I will build... a robotic cow.
LEGO is great because... of the infinite possible combinations one can construct.
LEGO fans are great because... they sometimes sell me their Lego!
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: I have no room for other toys.
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Travel and reading.
My favorite Foods: Anything new to me - and most that I have tried before!
My favorite Movies & TV: Not much.
My favorite Artists: Those who use Lego as an art form.
My favorite Music: My daughter.
My favorite Pets & Animals: I own none. But I study their behavior as a profession.
Words which best describe me: Professional but not stodgy.
Rules I try to live by: - Never draw to an inside straight.
- Never loose your sense of humor.
- Never get out the shower when you have to pee.
Additional comments:
I study animal behavior professionally. There is considerable overlap between the questions that I deal with and the questions addressed by persons working in artificial life and artifical intelligence. I find Lego to be a fascinating toy because it is sometimes a bridge between these scientific disciplines. I am currently living and working in Skara, Sweden but my permanent work is at the University of Maryland.
