Favorite LEGO toys/themes: A-ny-thing LEGO Space, Space themed or Space related; LEGO Star Wars™; LEGO Adventurers plus LEGO Indiana Jones and last but not least; LEGO AquaZone, Divers, Power Miners, Alpha Team and Agents.
My fascination with LEGO began... not when I got my first sets...It began at the age of 7, when the first Lego Space sets were released in Holland, 1979.
I once built... a pretty big Space rig, build together with an old schoolbuddy. I guess I had to be around 11 years old and the rig contained almost every Lego brick I had. I remember it was so heavy, the 8 big, vintage Technic wheels (as in sets 8859 and 8860) could barely carry it! (I still have a picture of it today :-)
Someday I will build... a gigantic Space layout with lots of working details...when I have enough room in my house... So it'll probably never happen... (not in my crowded house anyway ;-)
LEGO is great because... it's a way of life, it's relaxing! It keeps my mind in shape and keeps me young! It's therapeutic, it's creativity! It's comforting! Through it I've made new friends! It makes me feel free! It makes me feel rich and happy! Satisfaction garanteed! :-D
LEGO fans are great because... they all admit to themselves that LEGO isn't just a kid's toy (well, in fact it is and we're all kids:-) Being a fan of LEGO is having the time of your life!
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: certain video games (preferably Star Wars, the Matrix and the Thing)
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Besides LEGO®? Star Wars! Nice people in general, nice women in particular plus other 'Earthly good things' like good music, fast cars and nice meals!
My favorite Foods: Almost any meal my wife prepares for me; she's a real 'kitchen princess' !
My favorite Movies & TV: Sci-Fi, action, thriller & horror movies. Certain comedy series plus Discovery, NGC and Animal Planet.
My favorite Artists: the ones who compose my favorite music....
My favorite Music: ....that is performed by my favorite artists! (And boy, do I have a lot of favorites!)
My favorite Pets & Animals: cats & dogs (as long as they don´t chew my bricks...)
Words which best describe me: fanatic, accurate and dedicated but different (I sometimes wonder whether I'm from this planet...Oh, that's what you call 'geek' isn't it? :-), always late but honest, patient, caring and I'm an average listener. I can be stubborn from time to time; I like to sort things out on my own first (not taking everything for granted, eager to obtain more knowledge of matters that interest me).
I love it when... I can obtain another non-Dutch or exclusive Lego set or part!
I hate it when... certain individuals can't keep their hands off things that aren't theirs! I also can't stand it when people are acting friendly in my face but talk behind my back: If you got a problem with me, tell me face to face!
I can't seem to get enough... time to do all the things I want to do...
I always seem to have enough... things that need to be done which keep me away from the things I really want to do!
I hope I always... will be able to do the things that make my life worthwhile.
I wish I could... ...kick my own butt when I'm late again for an appointment!
I could never... sell my entire LEGO® collection! I can live with selling a few sets every now and then, but selling EVERYTHING would be like selling a substantial piece of my heart & soul...
I hope I never... have to sell part of my heart & soul ;-)
I wish I hadn't... made irreversible mistakes sometimes... but hey, nobody is perfect! (And I know of no-one that goes by the name of 'Nobody'...)
In my craziest moments... I sold all my sets of LEGO Space M-Tron, Blacktron II and Ice Planet, because I didn't like the fluorescent colors at first...
Believe it or not... Once I buy a single set from a certain LEGO© theme, I won't stop collecting untill I own at least one copy of every different set from that particular theme... Lack of room and funds made me decide not to start collecting certain themes at all... (Only exceptions to this drive -or obsession if you will- are certain Bionicle, Harry Potter, Studio, Creator, Town and City sets :-0)
If I were super-human... ...well? I'm not! I´m just a bit crazy but friendly human being with a heavy LEGO addiction :-[]
More & Less:
- more time to do the things and meet the people I care about., less time which gets wasted on unimportant things and people.
- more time and hands to sort my bricks!, less bricks that are all over the place to be forgotten about...
- more of everything that makes one's life good!, less of everything that makes one's life miserable...
Rules I try to live by:
- Try to be happy with the things you dó have in life. (While working on the things you wish for....)
- Be nice to pets and animals, they deserve our respect just as much as most people do!
- "Remember The Force will be with you, always!"
