Lindsay Braun ("LFB")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Imperial Guards, Blacktron I, Exploriens, Classic Space, Pirates.
My fascination with LEGO began... at about age 4, when I got a Moon Landing set (1975).
I once built... an 8'2" model of a World War I German battlecruiser (SMS Friedrich der Grosse), and a 13' dark grey Japanese cruiser (Takao).
Someday I will build... A big honkin' early-18th-century ship of the line.
LEGO is great because... it's the ultimate catharsis. When I'm writing papers or conducting research, it makes a good break and a "centering" exercise. It's also the ultimate food for creativity--vital in my profession.
LEGO fans are great because... they're almost always trustworthy, kind, geeky people like myself. :)
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: There are non-LEGO toys?
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: I'm a historian, what other interests do I need?
My favorite Foods: Indian, Thai.
My favorite Movies & TV: Labyrinth (1986), Princess Bride (1983), Dark Crystal (1981)
My favorite Music: British proto-techno pop of the 1970s and early 1980s.
My favorite Pets & Animals: Dogs. Little ones, raised to be non-yappy.
Words which best describe me: Diligent, disorganized, well-meaning, absent-minded, professorial.
I love it when... I find the set I want for over 70% off.
I hate it when... I don't.
I can't seem to get enough... Jalapeno Cheddar Doritos. Why, oh why?
I always seem to have enough... spoiled fruit. Why do I even buy fruit anymore?
I hope I always... get plenty of tolerance from my NLSO regarding my "weird habit" of accumulating Lego.
I wish I could... buy an absolute ton of Metroliners and Blacktron I Invaders.
I could never... buy an absolute ton of Metroliners and Blacktron I Invaders.
I hope I never... Die.
I wish I hadn't... blown off high school. I could have been in the Ivies a lot sooner, with better discipline.
In my craziest moments... I agreed to marry someone. Bad maneuver, but I pulled out of the nosedive.
Believe it or not... I'm a descendant of William I, King of England and Duke of Normandy. Also known as "The Bastard."
If I were super-human... Who's to say I'm not? :)
More & Less: - more Things deep-fried!, less (Fewer) Dead fish.
- more Friendly counter help, less Telemarketing
- more Educators and social workers who believe in their mission., less self-absorption and materialism among those charged with social betterment.
Rules I try to live by: - Treat others as you would be treated.
- Knowledge is the greatest need of human beings.
- Things can be replaced. People cannot.
