Jon Furman
("Obi-Juan-Kenobi")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Wild West, Pirate, Castle

My fascination with LEGO began... Christmas 1976 with the motorcycle police set #192.

I once built... A Hobbit hole for Bilbo Baggins (seriously, you can find it on Brickshelf)

Someday I will build... A replica of El Guapo's Fortress, and the village of Santa Poco.

LEGO is great because... If you can imagine it, you can build it!

LEGO fans are great because... They are always willing to share ideas, and encourage you to build.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: 12 " Star Wars Figures, The Lord of The Rings figures

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Guitar, Theology, Film,

My favorite Foods: Mexican, Thai, Cajun,

My favorite Movies & TV: LOST, The Office, NewsRadio, Seinfeld, The Bluth Family Documentary

My favorite Artists: Ang Lee, Michael Mann, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, Peter Jackson, Wes Anderson

My favorite Music: U2, Toad The Wet Sprocket

My favorite Pets & Animals: One Rottweiler named Czar and a naughty little Beagle named FeeBee

Words which best describe me: Witty, approachable, fun loving.

I love it when... The shop at home package arrives, opens, and the parts hit the floor!

I hate it when... I realize that my creation has no structural integrity.... I realize that I have compromised my own integrity....

I can't seem to get enough... Minifig Food, window frames, or Nacho Cheese (you know, those last few chips never have any cheese on them.)

I always seem to have enough... red 2 x 4 bricks, critics, Johnny Thunders, and rants about a cultural system that idealizes boorish, sexist, sophomoric behavior as an acceptable standard for adolescent males.

I hope I always... Remember what it felt like to be a teenager. It's the secret to remaining connected to the next generation.

I wish I could... Convince adults of the importance of responsibility, honesty, and genuine concern.

I could never... finish my beets.... or liver.... or War and Peace

I hope I never... become blinded by my own opinion, point of view, or science... No wait Thomas Dolby was blinded by science.

I wish I hadn't... passed on the opportunity to grab one of those clearanced Fort Legoredo sets. Ok Maybe 10 of those babies!

In my craziest moments... I consider moving to a country where the Almighty Dollar ISN'T the bottom line.

Believe it or not... I don't care if Episode 1 was underwhelming and Episode 2 sucked. I still like Star Wars.

If I were super-human... I'd force parents to spend time with the children they produced, instead of producing money to placate the children they neglect.

More & Less:
  • more Bulk Bricks, Minifigs, and Theme Development, less Specialization and Theme Cancellation
  • more Cooperation and Understanding, less Isolation and Ignorance
  • more Grace, Redemption, and Faith, less Judgement, Condemnation, and Doubt

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Allow things to develop fully before you cast your decision.
  2. Consider compassion to be your ambassador to the country of misunderstanding.
  3. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5:9

Additional comments:

A gentleman is someone who can play the banjo, but chooses not to.
