Dan Wray ("Cynchwyrm")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: I have always enjoyed medieval themes the most, but I build just about anything. I also have interest in space and technology.
My fascination with LEGO began... Very young. I have been building Lego's as long as I can remember.
I once built... A three foot version of Voltron while I was away from school with the chicken pox. I was in the sixth grade.
Someday I will build... As big a castle as I can. I actually dreamed once I had built a life size castle out of Lego's - it was quite surreal.
LEGO is great because... It's something you can play with forever. No other 'toy' has such infinite capacity.
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: I'm in a medieval recreation club called Amtgard
Rules I try to live by: - Treat others as you would like to be treated
- Follow rule 1 even when others do not
- Always try to be honest with yourself and others
Additional comments:
I am a lifetime Lego builder. I have a collection built up over many, many years. I am finding as I get older I have the financial ability to increase my Lego collection whenever I want, and have to resist the urge to buy with childlike abandon. This was especially true when the Star Wars sets came out!
My largest model is still built. It was a two-night, ten hour marathon that was the first thing I had made in many years. I hope to put pictures of it on this site. The castle design was entirely my own, using knowledge of classic castle architecture, mostly of the Edwardian period. The entire model would be fully accessable if you were Legoman sized. There are spiral staircases to the second level with trapdoor acess to the tower tops. The portcullis and drawbridge are fully functional. There are even arrow loops inside the gatetower covering the entrance. It is by far my largest and most detailed model I have ever built, and it took most of my Lego's to build.
