The Blank Shields

The Blank Shields never determined for certain who built this fastness, but they
always suspected Dwarves, or some other race reknowned for their stonework,
because of the cleverness of the entry mechanisms.
Here we see the main gate of the fastness, both opened and closed. Like all of
the entrances, it is sculpted to blend with the rock face around it.
This slightly skewed perspective shows the other two entrances to the fortress. You can
also see the cannon tower, and the “courtyard”. As with other mysteries of this fortress,
the Blank Shields never knew if the courtyard was natural, or just built to look that way.
