Chapter 13: Imperial Happenings

Things continued to be pretty normal and uneventful for Benny, Tommy, and the others who were guarding the Guild Hall. To continue to describe the current situation there would most likely put you to sleep. There were events happening elsewhere as a result of Benny getting the White Crystal. This is an accout of Soren soon after he left the Guild Hall when he went to get reinforcements:

He immediately flew to Leon’s Castle at Wembly. The king assembled a small detatchment of able soldiers and dispatched them with an ambitious but capable sergeant (Richard “Dickie” the Younger). At the request of his youngest daughter, Princess Lisa, she was sent to be the officer in charge of the detatchment. He knew the real reason she wanted to go, and that was to hang out with Benny. So he made her promise that she would behave and try to stay out everyone’s way.

After Soren had visited King Leon, he then flew to the Imperial Palace to discuss with the Emperor the current situation at the Guild Hall. When he got there, he found the entire palace in an uproar because the Emperor’s son, Crown Prince William (also the RED MAGE) could now speak. He had not been able to speak for a long time due to a strong and uncureable curse. When Benny had become the WHITE MAGE, that curse was broken.

Soren also found out that the GREEN MAGE was able to break out of her jail cell. Instead of taking flight, the GREEN MAGE went and found the RED MAGE. When Soren found this information out, he found out the Crown Prince and the GREEN MAGE to sort out the real facts, instead of seeing the Emperor directly.

Its seems that the GREEN MAGE was only allied with the Claus (the BLACK MAGE) in order for her to keep control over the Crown Prince, whom she was deeply infatuated with. She needed to be near him. But her story starts many years earlier, as Soren began to piece it together.

It seems hard to believe but the GREEN MAGE is the long-lost daughter of King Leon, and the twin sister of Princess Stephanie. Her name is (Princess) Sara. When she was still a young child, she was taken by bandits on a trip to through the woods, before the guards drove them away. The bandits disappeared and she ended up being given to a poor peasant family in the other side of the great forest.

The man of the house, somehow ended up with the GREEN MAGIC CRYSTAL and was enticed into the MAGIC GUILD. When he could no longer stand being part of the GUILD due to corrupt practises of certain members including a younger, less evil BLACK MAGE, he passed down the GREEN CRYSTAL to his Sara (who was raised in his household).

When Sara had been given the Crystal, Claus, the BLACK MAGE, encouraged her to seduce the Crown Prince William to join the GUILD as the RED MAGE. (Princess) Sara soon fell in love with the Prince, but this was all one-sided. Maybe it was because the the Prince was blinded with Power or becasue of the fact Sara supposedly had come from a peasant family.

There were numerous times when Sara had made advances towards the Prince, He, however, spurned those advances and Sara became very, very angry. As a result, she had put an uncureable spell on him so he couldn’t speak. The Emperor did not know that his son was part of the Guild, nor did Soren who had left before (Prince) William had joined.

As a result of being cursed, the Prince went into a deep depression, and the Emperor allowed him to go into isolation in his own quarters. When the Emperor put the ban on recruiting due to Claus’ evil deeds. Claus convinced the RED MAGE to stay at the GUILD HaLL instead, while himself, Sara, and Tommy) would negotiate with the Emperor for a repeal of the ban, so they could openly recruit for the WHITE MAGE.

The GUILD’s aims were dashed when Benny and Cletus were able to rescue the Prince. With the Prince’s rescue, the GUILD temporarily disbanded as Claus went into hiding, Sara went to find William, and Tommy turned himself into Imperial authorities.

It took Soren for Sara and William to find out about her past. There were two distinguishing features. She looked nearly identical to Princess Stephanie, and she wore the neckless of the royal family of Wembly. She was quite happy to find out that she did indeed come from a noble family, and even though it was quite a while since she visited her adopted family, she would love them always because they gave her unconditional love, and had given her aid at her hour of need.

(Princess) Sara was quite remorseful for her actions. When Prince William found out that she really was a daughter of Leon, and that all of what she did was out of genuine love, he had a change of heart. He fell in love with her also. Once things were sorted out between Soren, William and Sara, Soren went to explain everything to Emperor Malcolm.

Malcolm was quite happy to find out that the GREEN MAGE was no longer a threat to him and his only son, and quite pleased to find out that she was a really a daughter of his good friend. The Emperor suggested Soren, William, and Sara go to Wembly so that the family find out the news of her return.

So they left for Wembly immediately. Soon King Leon found out and was very happy that his long-lost daughter had returned. Not only that, but she was in love with the future Emperor.

They had a very pleasant meeting with King Leon, his Queen Beth, Princess Stephanie, and her fiance Vic. After that, it was getting late so Princess Sara stayed in Princess Lisa’s bed as Lisa was dispatched to help guard the GUILD HALL. Prince William and Soren (who was responsible for William’s safety) stayed with Cletus at Benny’s House (who was also on guard duty at the GUILD HALL).

Prince William stayed in Benny’s bed, while Soren slept on Benny’s couch in the parlor. The Crown Prince slept very well, not so well for Soren or Cletus who took turns watching over the Prince. When they had all awaken, they went to the Castle.

As they entered, the trumpet sounded, alerting everyone that the Crown Prince had entered the Castle. They both offered tea as they entered the hall joining King Leon and Princess Sara. Prince William accepted some but not Soren. Soon Princess Stephanie entered and gave her twin sister a very fond embrace.

Then Princess Stephanie said, “I can’t believe that you are in love with this royal hunk,” with a bit of jealousy and envy.

Prince William just blushed as King Leon laughed very heartily and the others joined in chuckling.

Princess Sara replied, “I can’t believe that one day you will be Queen and ruling monarch. Plus, your man is also quite sexy.”

Then they both joined in the laughter and then continued drinking tea, and those that were there soon accepted the dinner that was served, while enjoying the pleasant atmosphere of the current situation. After a delectable dinner, Prince William and Princess Sara excused themselves to spend some time alone together. So they left the castle, and decided to go to Arkangel Inn.

Even though they were going for some private time for themselves, Soren, Cletus, and Richard were sent to make sure the couple didn’t meet any trouble. They went there and began to talk about Sara’s family. After each drinking several glasses of wine at the Inn and slowly wrapping up their conversation there, Prince William took out a small case and knelt in front of Sara. On bended knee he proposed to Sara and she definitely said yes. Then they kissed for quite a while.

After their lengthy embrace and their lip-lock, the entire Inn congradulated them and wished them good health and lifelong hapiness. Soon both were very tired, so Soren and Cletus took Prince William back to Benny’s house, while Richard took Princess Sara home.

It didn’t take King Leon long to find out about the royal engagement and he was quite emphatic about having a feast, which would only happen when his youngest daughter, Lisa returned with her boyfriend, Benny. So Soren was sent to the GUILD HALL to get them and bring them the very happy news.
