Sneaks
| | This is Sneaks the Cat, the Summer Reading Club mascot for Maryland public libraries. Sneaks was my contribution to my branchs SRC kickoff event. The kids guessed how many bricks it took to make Sneaks, and the winner got a prize (the answer was 1346, and the winner guessed 1200).
This was the first time Ive been able to put my LEGO skills to use at work, and it was pretty fun (except for the 1 1/2 hours of anxiety protecting Sneaks from destruction at the hands of our patrons). The staff as well as the patrons were really impressed - I dont think the kids knew I had any talents other than shaking them down for late fees.

| | The theme for Summer Reading Club this year was Wild About Reading, with Sneaks in the jungle (hence the loincloth). There was another image of Sneaks that I liked a lot, with a pith helmet and khakis. But I have lots of yellow and not much tan, so I went with Tarzan Sneaks.
Overall, hes a bit more boxy than I would have liked, but the head turned out pretty well.

| | My favorite part is the book Sneaks is holding. I had originally intended for the pages to be plain white, but I didnt have enough white hinges. So I decided to make it a picture book, about a pig. On the first page, the pig is in a mud puddle, and on the second page hes next to a barn. The text is at the bottom.
The first part of Sneaks to be completed was the snout, and the last part was his right fingers. I was short two of these pieces, which didnt go on until my wife delivered a couple of 7412s to me at work the day of the kickoff.
