NES Mosaics
| | These are a selection of mosaics based on characters from Nintendo games. Construction was similar for all of these mosaics. I took a screenshot from NESticle (an NES emulator), and then just substituted bricks for pixels. The bricks were mounted on a 2-plate thick base.
First, we have Mario and Luigi, from Super Mario Brothers. The SMB mosaics were all built for my little brother as gifts. There are pieces built in to tie string through, allowing them to hang on the wall.

| | This is Link, hero of The Legend of Zelda. Link was built in the same way as the other NES mosaics, but without the hanging attachments. I have him displayed on my shelf, with two inverse slopes keeping him standing at an angle.
Sand green would have been a more accurate choice for Link’s clothes, and technically the Triforce should be the same dark orange color as the belt and boots. But I think he looks better this way.
