The Airship H.M.S. Andrea Gale

| | The Andrea Gale is one of the finest airships to come out of the shipyards of Mercator. Built for the Order of the Dragon to explore the Isle of Mist she’s fast, rugged, and beautiful. The island must be quite important for the Dragons to have gone to such expense.

| | At the heart of the Andrea Gale is her two steam engines. Through a series of pulleys and shafts they turn the Gale’s six propellers, four providing lift and two for directional movement. Providing steam for these two engines is a massive boiler. It sits at the rear of the ship and protrudes up through the cabin above. Fuel and water for the engines is stored in large barrels towards the center of the ship. All this equipment takes up a good portion of the lower deck limiting storage to the front. While the Gale needs her engines exclusively for lift, forward momentum can come from either her engines or through sails. With a stiff breeze filling her sails and engines at full power the Andrea Gale is incredibly fast.
