You are not alone! LUGNET is a community of thousands of users and members of all ages. Meet people who understand you; make friends online and offline.

Second childhood? I'm still having my first!
Believe it or not, thousands of grown-ups still regularly build and play with LEGO® toys. In fact, the things adults create will knock your socks off. Many adults are also serious collectors, though most enjoy their collections by building things.

It's not just a hobby, it's a way of life
The fun doesn't have to end when the toys are put away. This is a community which never sleeps — and has been called "the friendliest place on the Internet."

    More about LUGNET
The community's roots date back to the early 1990's, when LEGO enthusiasts first began gathering in numbers in the Usenet newsgroup alt.toys.lego and later rec.toys.lego. LUGNET's newsgroups do not entirely replace these original groups but complement them with a friendlier, more focused approach.

In late 1999, the LEGO Company officially declared that it acknowledges AFOLs ("Adult Fans of LEGO") and that it would be participating actively in LUGNET newsgroups. The community's phenomenal response prompted the creation of a dedicated forum for communicating with the company's new LEGO Direct business unit.

LUGNET is an independent site by fans, for fans, and is not owned or operated by the LEGO Company. LUGNET was founded in 1998 by adult LEGO enthusiasts Todd Lehman and Suzanne Rich, who met in 1996 through their personal LEGO web sites. In 1997, LUGNET's Plan document was announced and outlines rationale and directions.
