Brendan Powell Smith ("The Reverend")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: My favorite official LEGO theme is Town, though not because of any sets that have been released in the past 10 years. The new Advenurer line is giving Town a run for its money, though. My favorite unofficial theme is Ancient.
My fascination with LEGO began... I barely remember life before LEGO. I think my parents got me the Windmill set in about 1977 or so, back when minifigs had no faces and you couldn't move their arms and legs. When articulated minifigs came out, it totally blew my five-year old mind.
I once built... An 8'6" skyscraper.
Someday I will build... More Bible stories for TheBrickTestament.com.
LEGO is great because... There's so many ways to build so many different things. You can sit down in front of a pile of Lego without any plans, and soon you ideas start popping into your head, and while looking for one type of element, you come across another one which inspires your creation to go off in a whole new direction. When you don't have a part you need, you have to problem-solve your way around it using other elements. Or your dignity takes a hit, and you go on eBay and buy more Lego.
LEGO fans are great because... From my experience, they tend to be generally polite, sharing, creative, supportive, encouraging, and have a good sense of humor.
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: I still like my Star Wars action figures, but you won't see me playing with those much anymore.
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Writing & recording songs, web surfing, thinking about stuff.
My favorite Foods: Swiss fondue, Indian chaat, Mexican food, Chinese food, pizza, Thai food, pasta... I could go on.
My favorite Movies & TV: Banacek
My favorite Music: The Beatles, Sufjan Stevens, Tori Amos, They Might Be Giants, Beck, Ben Folds Five, Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Lisa Germano, David Fridlund...
My favorite Pets & Animals: I've got the best cat ever.
Words which best describe me: In a race against time.
I love it when... things turn out better than expected.
I hate it when... things fall on my head.
I can't seem to get enough... time for all the crazy projects I want to do before I kick the bucket.
I always seem to have enough... cool projects to keep me busy when I feel like working on stuff.
I hope I always... stay intact.
I wish I could... stop aging for maybe the next couple hundred years or so until I get tired of living.
I could never... go up to a complete stranger, sucker punch them in the small of the back and scream "Now look what you've done! I smell like dental floss!" Then hide out in Mexico for a week.
I hope I never... wake up one morning with an axe in my chest and a splitting headache, only to discover that what I thought was my toaster was actually my dead lesbian wife!
I wish I hadn't... befriended that wacky eskimo in the summer of '87, because the next 17 weeks were nothing but saurkraut & Hostess Ding-Dong snack cakes. I just hope those poor boarding school girls can find it in their hearts to forgive us. Or at least me...
In my craziest moments... I fill out long forms.
Believe it or not... I'm part Irish!
If I were super-human... oooooooh, that'd be sweeeeeeeeeeet...
