Shiri Dori (Shiri "hunky dory", "Dutchess of Castle World")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Castle by far!! ... after that: Belville, Town, Adventurers, Wild West, Trains, 4558, 6399, 6090, 6067, 6081, 6048. Harry Potter looks cool too. For great pieces, always buy Star Wars, and the 1200 pc. bucket!
My fascination with LEGO began... At age 4 with a generic box... possibly 530. Also remainders of Grandpa's "reserve" collection... "for the grandchildren"... Later on, Crusader's Cart and that little BK set caught my attention, as well as Merlin.
I once built... A centipede using left brown monkey arms.
Someday I will build... A huge modular and fully detailed castle with a peasant village, with terrain and at realistic-ish size. And... lots of stuff. Helfire to minifig scale. A LEGO renedition of all the fairy-tales I know (especially the Wizard of Oz - follow the yellow brick road!). A maxi-scale house with full details. A statue of the Little Prince. Someday.
LEGO is great because... You can do everything with it! See above. Plus, it's great because every once in a while a creation will pop up using pieces in the most original way, and that is the coolest thing ever.
LEGO fans are great because... They share their ideas with each other and are very supportive (well.... usually). They have a lot in common - more than they realize. They're still children at heart (and you *know* that's all that counts).
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Puzzles (bigger = better, my biggest so far is 3000, working on a 5000), Civilization I, II, III and Call to Power (III is the best!), Colonization, Monopoly, Clue, Chess, Backgammon and Greek Backgammon, Speed & Spider solitaire & Whist & Freecell (all card games), cameras, Astound, various quests
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Ceramics, Theater/Acting (esp. Improv). Singing and listening to Music (see entry below). Writing. Drawing too.
My favorite Foods: Rice Krispies, Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Clusters, other cereals, oatmeal, Bagel and cream cheese, rice, pepperoni pizza, sushi, chocolate, melon, watermelon, ice cream (mint chocolate chip is the ultimate flavor), orange juice, chocolate chip cookies, pita, cottage cheese, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, chicken (esp. roast), schnitzel, potatoes in any form and especially mashed, orange-juice cake (my grandma's recipe), tea (any fruity or herb flavor is usually great, and the best - made with real Louisa leaves). I don't *actually* eat all that every day, though. ;-)
My favorite Movies & TV: The Lion King, Amelie, My Girl, Lord of the Rings (all three extended versions), Harry Potter, What dreams may come, The Princess Bride, Eternal Sunshine to a Spotless Mind, Sense and Sensibility, Fight Club, Phenomenon, Serendipity, Memento, K-PAX, Face Off, Dante's Peak, Sliding Doors, Twister, Minority Report, Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen, Pretty Woman, almost all the Disney animated movies, and pretty much anything w/Robin Williams; ..... TV - Ally McBeal (early seasons), Charmed, Party of Five, Sliders, Lois and Clark, Growing Pains (but I rarely see TV anymore). Also So Weird, Smart Guy and Boy Meets World (introduced to me by Inbal, my sis), the Cracker (British). The only american TV show I follow the days are Smallville.
My favorite Artists: Claude Monet, Renoir, M.C. Escher, Leonardo Da Vinci, Walt Disney, Craig Hamilton
My favorite Music: I've got way too much music for my own good. English: EVERYTHING by Tori Amos, plus a lot by the following... Savage Garden, Beatles, the Cranberries, Vanessa Carlton, Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant, Vonda Shepard, Poe, Bryan Adams, Roxette, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morisette, Seal, Aerosmith, U2, Garbage, EagleEye Cherry, Lonestar, Backstreet Boys, Garth Brooks. Hebrew: Metropolin, Yoni Bloch, Mashina, Noa (Achinoam Nini), David Broza, Rami Kleinstein, Ronit Shahar, Ariel Horovitz, Berry Sacharof, Aviv Gefen (in some moods), Monica Sex, Avtipus, Arik Einstien, Yehudit Ravitz, "Don Quixote", and (for old time's sake) Shlomo Artzi , Gidi Gov.
My favorite Pets & Animals: I'm allergic. I like dolphins and big cats, 'specially lions.
Words which best describe me: There are just too many, coz I'm a babble-mouth. You gotta know me.
I love it when... I'm on a creative roll and have plenty of ideas.
...I smell that 'smell before snow' - even when it doesn't really snow afterwards. ...I work hard and it pays off. ...I try something new and it works. ...I'm in a really beautiful place, and get a feeling that everything is going to be fine. ...I laugh so hard, I cry. ...Things make sense and connect in my mind, and I get that 'ohhhhhhhh, I get it' feeling. ...People get my jokes. When my hair sits straight, those are rare moments. ...I get a lot of compliments all at once, and can't help wondering if perhaps they're true. ...I get a hug. ...I see people after not seeing them for a long time. ...I make new friends. ...I smile at someone in the street and they smile back. ...It's warm outside, but a little bit windy.
I hate it when... I'm in a really bad mood and treat people badly. And when people tell me that. ...When I greet people and they ignore me. ...When someone gets judged according to what they are, instead of who they are. I hate it even more when that someone is me or a person I care about, and even more when the judgement is wrong, and worse yet when it hurts the people involved. ... When I get the feeling people don't want me around and/or are talking about me behind my back. ...When I make a mistake and don't realize it in time to fix it. ...When I want to do something but don't want to face the consequences. ...When I know I need to do something, but can't make myself do it, and keep myself busy with other things. Like right now.
I can't seem to get enough... inspiration, love
I always seem to have enough... (home)work... love (but I still want more ;-)
I hope I always... Stay young at heart, and innocent. ...Remember who I am and what I want. ...Speak my opinion. ...Try to make this a better world for my children. ...Help others.
I wish I could... get the Guarded Inn for $30. Or a 4558 metroliner for $150.
I could never... find the Guarded Inn for $30, or a 4558 for $150.
note: oh goodness! Well, I found both! Thank heavens for Brad J. and LEGO Direct... keep it up!
I hope I never... lose interest in LEGO. ...Feel lonely again. Alone, at times, is alright, but not lonely.
I wish I hadn't... lost that pitchfork. Honestly, that's the only thing I regret in my life. :-) I stand behind my own decisions... they made me who I am.
In my craziest moments... You don't wanna know. So I'm not going to tell you.
Believe it or not... I finished an M.Sc. at 22 years old. (Over achiever and proud of it?... guess so!)
If I were super-human... I'd dump Lana already. Geez Louise.
More & Less: - more fun, less work
- more friends for everybody, who care about you for *who* you are, less (rich or otherwise) snobs (but my BF is allowed.. ;-) ), and prejudice of all kinds
- more love and understanding, less cold, calculated decisions
Rules I try to live by: - Don't sweat the small stuff.
- Everything's small stuff.
- The world is a loan given to us by our parents so we can hand it down to our children.
Additional comments:
I'm not really an avid AFOL anymore, but these pages are too dear to me to remove from the net. I decided to leave them here as they always were, with few changes over the years. I will always cherish my lego years and I'll always love lego, and maybe someday I'll come back.

At the tip of my fingers / Lay other worlds, and / Itâ™s up to me to / Create them. / A gallant knight rushing / To save the palace, / A spaceship with brave / Pioneers, or maybe their
/ Moon colony. // Then I build a city / That has houses and stores, / Not just police and fire stations. / Pirates plundering majick islands, / Or peasant houses, poor and desolate. / One blow, and they fall, / Never to return. / I rustle my fingers through / The plastic bricks, / Wondering where theyâ™ll / Take me today.
