Larry Pieniazek ("Lar", "lar", "++Lar")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: I like technology as opposed to fantasy.
I have a lot of town and trains sets. I used to track what I was complete in but I guess I stopped caring as much. I've built sets from just about every theme and they all have some good in them.
My fascination with LEGO began... in 1966 (as a little boy) when I lived in Canada.
I once built... part of a 25 foot high Cinderella's castle, working with LEGO model builders at WDW LIC in Orlando. See my web pages under trips/adventures/hajjs for details.
Someday I will build... An around the room layout to highlight my US prototype trains and town sets.
LEGO is great because... It is a very expressive medium but imposes interesting restrictions. If you can imagine it, you can build it. If you can get the parts.
LEGO fans are great because... We are some of the most creative and fun loving people out there, and we're usually quite friendly and helpful. However (as with all things) there are some people whose net contribution to the hobby is negative. Don't let them troll you or get you down.
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Other construction toys: Tente, Erector, Lincoln Logs, Tinkertoys, American Bricks, and diecast cars
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Politics, Space, Gaming, skiing, swimming, my kids, british anything esp. cars
My favorite Foods: Macaroni and Cheese, Chocolate, Pizza, microbrew beer
My favorite Movies & TV: Movies: Anything Bogie or Cary Grant, Star Wars, Star Trek. TV: Urbane comedies (Frasier, W&G, etc)
My favorite Artists: Monet and other impressionists, Calder
My favorite Music: Art Rock, Blues, Rockabilly, Classical
My favorite Pets & Animals: I actively dislike most animals, they chew my bricks. Nevertheless we have a horse, a dog and three cats
Words which best describe me: busy
I love it when... I create something unique, or I mentor someone else in making something neat, whether it be code, LEGO, writing, or anything else.
I hate it when... People exhibit a failure to think, or ignore consequences of their actions, or usurp the rights of others.
I always seem to have enough... Bills to pay and work to do.
I hope I always... Have enough Lego.
I wish I could... Make a living designing and selling sets. But LEGO still doesn't sell parts in ways that would enable that.
I could never... Live somewhere that wasn't at least partly capitalistic and partly free.
I hope I never... have to, because I won't.
I wish I hadn't... ever said "I wish I hadn't..." because I have no regrets.
Rules I try to live by: - Respect the rights of others to do as they please
- Look for learning opportunities every day.
- Plan your work and then work your plan (haha!... it says *TRY*)
