Dave Eaton ("DaveE")
Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Star Wars, Castle, Space, Technic, Adventurers, Rock Raiders
My fascination with LEGO began... A long time ago, when I was 2. DUPLO ducks. I was hooked.
I once built... A minifig scale AT-AT, a 3'x5' scale model of a music school, a huge medieval town, a big portrait of Homer Simpson, a green line trolley ...
Someday I will build... A very huge castle, an ancient Egyptian temple, a Minifig scale Millenium Falcon, a minifig-scale spaceship (between fighter and capital ship), and whatever other silly things I can think of.
LEGO is great because... It's just about the perfect modeling tool, complete with all the functionality you can muster.
LEGO fans are great because... They're wonderfully creative, and they're devoted.
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Non lego? What's that?
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Computer Programming, Biking, Settlers of Catan!
My favorite Foods: Meat. Good, old-fashioned meat.
My favorite Movies & TV: Star Wars, Simpsons, South Park, Forrest Gump, Princess Bride
My favorite Artists: DiVinci, Escher, Bill Watterson, Pat Brady
My favorite Music: Simon&Garfunkel, Janis Joplin, Les Mis, Beatles, and lots more...
My favorite Pets & Animals: NLSO's a vet ... does that count?
Words which best describe me: Freak. Nerd. Eccentric. 80% insane, 3% sane, 17% other.
I love it when... I discover that I have EXACTLY the right number of 'special' pieces to do what I wanted.
I hate it when... You need 16 of a certain piece... and you have 15.
I can't seem to get enough... LEGO!
I always seem to have enough... Johnny Thunder's, Willa the Witch's, and UFO colored hulls. The day I run out of those is a dark day. Oh yes, and 1x2 black plates, but they're actually useful at times :)
I wish I could... Become .* complete :)
I could never... Become .* complete :(
I hope I never... Have to sell my old sets
I wish I hadn't... been ashamed to buy Lego in stores for myself...
In my craziest moments... I transcribed with pen and paper the entire script to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Drew 20-color gradients by hand in MS paint. Made ASCII stereograms. Used advanced trig using images of the view out of the AT-AT cockpit to determine AT-AT speed.
Believe it or not... The Great Pyramid of Gizah may have been a giant water pump! (www.thepump.org!) And believe or not, I learned that on lugnet.off-topic.test!
If I were super-human... I'd be useless: "Help! Super-Dave! The evil Monstro-Tron is attacking the city!" "Ok, just let me finish building this one set!"
More & Less: - more Stars, less Cars
- more Trees, less People
- more Snack Machines, less Pennies
Rules I try to live by: - Smile a lot (it works for minifigs!)
- Don't humor people, unless they're kids.
- Be very, very strange.
