Eric Sophie
("Legomaster")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Fan Created Mecha - Technic,Space,Good old basic, More recently Mindstorms and Vision Command.

My fascination with LEGO began... Building Space ships, Auto Chasis, Suspension building designs, Now I make Robots as big as I can! My biggest is a Giant 6 foot Praying Mantis.

I once built... I once Built a Mechanical Hexapod! Very Cool, Very Compact, Very complicated.

Someday I will build... ....all my dreams....

LEGO is great because... Creativity and Lego go hand and hand. For me it is a way to express high tech ideas in a low tech kinda way.

LEGO fans are great because... They all know that the possibilities are infinite, we all share the same need for more elements, pieces, time and more time.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: My hopped up Monte Carlo - yeah baby 300hp!!!

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Self taught Artist - I build Robots as large as I can!!!!!!

My favorite Foods: MMMM - BBQ -!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite Movies & TV: I'm a giant Sci-fi freak.......

My favorite Artists: Many of my close friends are wonderfully talented musicians and illustrators!!

My favorite Music: Voi Vod , Metal chugga-chugga, skins, reeds and strings!!!!

My favorite Pets & Animals: I build my own pets, I call 'em Robots....

Words which best describe me: I love what I do, I am compelled to create what is possible with Lego!

I love it when... I have enough of a certain type of piece!

I hate it when... I run out of pieces!!!

I can't seem to get enough... Black plates and beams!!!

I always seem to have enough... Wheels - I don't really use them.

I hope I always... Have a place to share my creations.

I wish I could... Meet more people that share my drive to push the envelope of what's possible with Lego.

I could never... Throw away Lego, or use clones.

I hope I never... Forget all those Exhibits and Art Shows, I met some really enthusiastic people. I always said my creations don't do much good at home.

I wish I hadn't... Tried to mention a sales item in a building group. bad bad bad.

In my craziest moments... I listen to 5 CD's worth of music at a time, stay up all night working on my Robot, then right back at it as soon as I can!!! Dishes? what Dishes?

Believe it or not... I am not what some people make me out to be.

If I were super-human... I would build until my Robots were completed, My Praying Mantis took 3 years to complete.

More & Less:
  • more Black Beams and Plates!!! Hey I'm building a Robot here!!!, less Self Doubt, synisicim, cruelty, Hate, closed mindedness.
  • more Robots and ever expanding Lego capabilities!!!, less Single purpose pre-formed elements and pieces!!!
  • more Compassion, understanding, and motors ports on the RCX!!!, less Nanofig sillyness - just kidding , some of them are ok!!!

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Always plan ahead......always consider what you can't see yet!!
  2. Some people don't know what they want until they find it. Or dream it!!!
  3. Live and let live, we can't always know all the Truths.

Additional comments:

I have progressed in my building to the point where there is only one Robot for me to create. You all can imagine whats possible with Lego. So go out and do it! Make it happen, pool your resources, plan, create. Make 'em as big as you can, go grandiose!...and why not? create to keep, give youre creations purpose, make them a statement to last. "This is what's possible" That's how I feel when I look at my Robots! Shake the foundations of belief, why muddle around making small stuff or things you know your not going to keep. Move towards a great goal. Ask yourself - "What can I do to show my Ideas, my designs, to make them great." The hardest thing I ever had to do is maintain a steady pace building a 6 foot Praying Mantis without the materials. Building Robots from Lego has taught me much. Most are life lessons....things like patience and dedication. Thank-you. Eric "Legomaster" Sophie
