Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Space (Blacktron I, Space Police I, M:Tron,
classic Space), Star Wars, Aquazone
(Aquanauts,
Stingrays), Underground (Rock Raiders),
Adventurers, Technic, MindStorms, DUPLO
Dinos, Fabuland, and last but not least, all the
great
MOCs out there!
My fascination with LEGO began... at age 2 when I had a small ice-cream pail of
basic bricks, and intensified when
LEGOLAND Space
came out in 1978, and then super-intensified
when the Net started taking off in a big way in
the early 1990's.
I once built... a mousetrap-powered LEGO car. It used a
Fabuland car chassis with super-oiled
wheels and went a good 50 feet on cement
floor.
Someday I will build... a giant space mining colony with monorails
running through mountains and interesting
buildings built into the mountainsides.
LEGO is great because... it's always familiar, but always different-and
with it you can build anything.
LEGO fans are great because... they're genuine, creative, and high-spirited;
not superficial, pretentious, or high-strung.
My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: toppling dominos, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, GeoMag, gyroscopes, kaleidoscopes, stereoscopes, kinematoscopes
My favorite Hobbies & Interests: LEGO, music, writing, drawing, stereo photography, hacking Perl, database theory
My favorite Foods: pizza with extra sauce & thick crust-topped with goat cheese, hot peppers, fresh pineapple, and unsweetened sundried cranberries; Cambodian style curry chicken-extra fire hot with extra peanuts; über-garlic pickles; baked brie on toasted Italian bread; Haribo gummi bears; Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk Ice Cream; chocolate hazelnut truffles; lightly buttered popcorn; sunflower seeds, salted in the shell; warm sourdough pretzels; strawberry yogurt with lots of Grape Nuts; fresh hand-picked raspberries; blueberry pound cake; cabernet & brie; dark coffee; dark beer
My favorite Movies & TV: Free To Be You And Me, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Star Trek, Blade Runner, X-Files, Wallace & Gromit, PBS documentaries, Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, The Simpsons, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, The Monkees, The Mr. Bill Show
My favorite Artists: M.C. Escher, H.R. Giger, Salvador Dali, Annie Leibovitz, Joe Johnston, Richard Scarry, Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss), David Macaulay, Stephen Biesty, Scott Kim, Patrick Nagel, John Lasseter, Bill Watterson, Duane Bibby, James Sturm
My favorite Music: a little bit of just about everything
My favorite Pets & Animals: cats
Words which best describe me: able, passionate, intense, sincere, creative, playful, methodical, silly, curious, responsible, compassionate, cheerful, elastic, ambivert, geek
I love it when... it rains in the winter and then freezes
overnight, and the sun comes out the next day
and all the trees sparkle like glass.
I hate it when... I have to get up early but I can't fall asleep.
I can't seem to get enough... free time to keep in touch with old friends as
much as I'd like to.
I always seem to have enough... e-mail.
I hope I always... feel young, even when I'm not.
I wish I could... buzz around in a dune buggy on the moon for
an
afternoon.
I could never... spend a year and a half studying geothermal
radiation phenomena in Antarctica.
I hope I never... take anything in life for granted.
I wish I hadn't... lost my interest in LEGO during my teen years.
In my craziest moments... I jabber to myself like a 2-year-old and make
funny faces in the mirror.
Believe it or not... I'm older than I look! but young at heart.
If I were super-human... I could spit watermelon seeds 500 miles,
breathe toxic fumes, and read a whole book in
a second.
More & Less: - more romp, less pomp
- more dreaming, playing, and inventing, less coasting, churning, and clogging
- more Autumn and Spring, less Winter and Summer
Rules I try to live by: - Do something fun every day.
- Do something stressful every day.
- Do something relaxing every day.
Additional comments:
The world is too uptight.
