What can you do?
----------------
Anything! You can do anything - a lot of the shops have full details (address, phone numbers etc), while this is the ideal level of information, any information is better than none!
If you went to a Beatties in Liverpool but can't remember the address, but you have an idea of the stock.. then that will be of use to someone.
Okay, okay, I want to add a shop - how?
---------------------------------------
[URL location]¬
The first thing you need to note down is the lowest level that it can be placed in the /loc/uk/ hierarchy. So start at <http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/> and work your way down: country, region, city. If the town or city isn't listed then it's okay to stop at a higher level and just note down that URL.
An example URL is <http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/sc/sc/> if you list the shops by area, you'll see that it lists shops in Greenock and Paisley. That is the lowest level that these shops can be placed, putting them in the only available lower category (Glasgow) would be incorrect.
[List Information]¬
If you look at <http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/sc/sc/?p=shops-by-area>, you'll see that each shop is listed in a table. This is stored in the following format:
<http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/?p=shops-contribution-example1.ftx>
Which is parsed to look like:
<<shops-contribution-example1>>
The character between the fields in the address is commonly found on the top-left corner of keyboards, and is used to give correct spacing.
If you are able to format this list information in the FTX format, then I can just copy and paste it in which would be very helpful!
[Shop Information]¬
If you want to write a review of the shop, then I'll accept any format.. but again it'll save time if you wrote in FTX!
EG.¬
<http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/sc/sc/glw/?p=shop-toystack>
Is parsed from:¬
<http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/sc/sc/glw/?p=shop-toystack.ftx>
You can find a template at:¬
<http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/?p=shops-contribution-template.ftx>
{Just copy+paste, remove any surplus fields and add in your info!}
[What is FTX anyway?]¬
It's a simple markup language for HTML, written by Todd! You can peek at any page in /loc/uk/ by simply adding '.ftx' to the URL. EG. You can see this page at <http://www.lugnet.com/loc/uk/?p=shops-contribution-guide.ftx>
Summary
-------
There are up to three things that I need for each shop:
+ URL location: eg /loc/uk/en/ch/
+ List Information: name, address, phone. Click <shops-contribution-example1.ftx here> for a template that you can just copy+paste.
+ Shop Information: Optional, click <shops-contribution-template.ftx here> for a template.
