The Revenge
With the arrival of the Misérable in Port Brique, the French Squadron found
itself with a shortage of manpower and a surplus of vessels. A simple solution was proposed - dispose
of one of the Chase Maries - either the Azelma or the Cosette - and redeploy
the crew to the new 28 gun frigate.
The colour scheme of the Azelma was deemed least complementary to the rest of the squadron, so it was sold off.
The purchaser was one Jane Hookhand, who promptly renamed it ‘Revenge’, and re-crewed it
in such a way as to take advantage of the disabled berthing spaces in Port Brique.
The Revenge is armed with a pair of 18 pounders on the gun deck, and several deck guns.
She is a fast vessel, able to outrun most of the vessels of Port Brique in light winds.
