Message formats
The LUGNET News discussion group system supports two types of message formats:
- Plain text
This is plain and simple text, typically up to 80 columns wide and typically in a monospace font. There are no fancy formatting options like italics, boldface, links, or images. With plain text, what you see is what you get.
- Formatted text (“FTX”)
This is an enhanced text format developed by LUGNET, designed to co-exist peacefully with plain text and be readable in raw form. FTX offers many of the same great features as HTML, but in a simpler and more direct way. (Learn more)
