Ronauld Adept at the intrigues and politics of court Prince Rhonauld seemed born to be king, but as the youngest son of a large family had no hope of ever becoming one. He spent his youth sulking over his misfortune until a friend showed him the more important problems of his kingdom Istera. Rounalds friend, Grant, took him to a gathering of peasants, soldiers, and even some nobles. Ronauld was shocked as he listened to the proclamation that the kingdom was starving because of lack of land to feed its growing numbers. While Ronauld tried to deny and ignore these claims he was eventually forced to investigate and accept them. Ronauld then dedicated himself to helping his people. He gathered the leader of the groups that had acknowledged the danger facing the kingdom. Surprised by such a powerful ally, the group leaders struggled to change their focus from just convincing people of the problem to finding a way to survive it. Finally, they decided that they must find a new kingdom that could support Istera and all its future generations. Ronauld received permission from his father to lead an expedition to find such a land. The Isterans arrived in the land that seemed to be the paradise they had searched for only to find it under attack from fierce invaders called the Waldron. Ronauld convinced them to stay in the land and fight the invaders. He spent five years battling against the Waldron at the side of King Mac and the two developed a close friendship that has continued to the present. Ronauld has ruled the infant kingdom of Octavium completely, but has less control over his family. His wife Morgan refuses to come to court. His eldest son relinquished the throne to become a Sage. His middle child Lewllyn is diligent but not absorbed in his studies to become king. His daughter Leandra seems to have no interest in anything but the trivial court activities that Ronauld has always distained. While he and his wife Morgan both have responsibilities that occupy much of their time, still they love each other deeply, and make time to be together. |
